The essentials

What is a reformer—and what does it actually do?

A reformer is a specialist Pilates apparatus with a moving carriage, springs, straps and a footbar. The springs provide adjustable resistance and support, allowing exercises to be adapted to different bodies and experience levels.

During a session, you may work lying down, seated, kneeling or standing. The focus stays on control, alignment, breathing and the quality of each movement—not simply completing as many repetitions as possible.

Why people practise

More than a workout.

Build strength

Use controlled resistance to challenge the whole body with intention.

Improve control

Develop greater awareness of alignment, pace and movement quality.

Move with confidence

Learn in a supported setting where exercises can be adapted as needed.

Create consistency

Build a practice that progresses with you rather than racing ahead.
